Teaching, giving back is my purpose; inspired by my own life mentors and experiences.
I have learned just as much from my students as I've have in my life. They are the engine that
empower me to do better and to be better everyday.
I dedicate my work to all those who unconditionally helped me to become who I am today.

Photography is my passion. I am fascinated by the idea of collaborating with people
to create beautiful images that will stand the test of times. It is important to me to find
a genuine connection with my subject; and to create not only great images but a good
    experience for both.

My grandmother was my first great mentor. She never learned how to read or how to write, but
she was the wisest and wealthiest person I've ever met. As a kid full of dreams, she gave me the key
to real treasures: Faith in myself in spite of circumstances, the value of forgiveness and the strength
    to overcome fear.

Before I was 25--and thanks to a great job opportunity, I had already traveled to 20 different countries
around the world. Some geographically stunning, some rich in History and culture, and some with the
nicest, friendliest people I've ever met. Neither one better, each one rich in its own way.

I have spoken, danced, sung, modeled and acted in front of hundreds of people... I have also
made a fool of myself in front of many more... I learned to use discomfort as a personal expansion tool.
The Internet & cell-phones are the two major amazing discoveries I've experienced in my lifetime.
The Internet & cell-phones are the two major social problems I've seen in my lifetime.

I think the world needs more good mentors and less celebrities... or better yet, more celebrity mentors.

I believe everyone deserves a good chance... I had mine. I know what it can do. Education of any level
and personal development, always open up great opportunities and strengthens the Spirit.

The most consistent aspect of my life has been "change." I welcome change, new experiences,
knowledge, and wisdom.  Still at my age life is yet fascinating. I have been criticized, trashed, bashed and
often doubted. I take nothing personal anymore. It all helps me to be stronger and determined.
I have been unconditionally loved too. If there is love in our lives, nothing else matters.

Gratefulness keeps me going... I thank God, America my Home, my partner Scott,
my family, my mentors, my students, and everyone who  chooses to work with me for the opportunity to be
    part of their experience.

    And last,

When I was 13, my father told me on his deathbed that he'd realized how much time he'd spent
working so hard to have things, to save money, and to live up to other's expectations... and he could
not take any of it with him. For the first time I saw deep sadness in his eyes. He said he
regretted not doing more of what he really loved and enjoyed... He made me promise I would not
make the same mistake... Those were his last words to me.

    ... I did listen. I still am...

    AJ Riley.
